Hi There Folks and welcome to my new blog for all things on my scope in health, fitness, fat-loss and life in general. Why these topics? Because these are my passions.
Warning: there may also be some sneakily geekily tendencies slipping in as well as I try to infuse my personality and charm into this forum.
So there you go, and lets get thingscranking along with my first post.

Humans as a species are without doubt the most evolved & superior species on the planet, we rule over animals that are stronger, faster, more agile and equipped with sharper senses and deadlier weapons then us.
What allows us to do this? The human mind, it allows us to both imagine & make reality creations that would boggle the minds of previous generations.
For all of mankinds achievements, for all of the amazing thing we continue to accomplish our physical bodies seem to be in decline, de-evolving if you will to fatter, slower, weaker, pain ridden versions of earlier generations, a major contributing factor for this is the self-limiting beliefs a lot of us set for ourselves.
I can’t run at all because my joints hurt when run
Because I can’t run I can’t get fit/lose weight
I’m too old to improve my fitness
I can’t do a push up, so I won’t even try
There’s no way I could ever do a marathon, when I can’t run aroud the block
I had a back injury years ago if I do any exercise it’ll just hurt more
I will tell you now that all of these excuses are just that excuses, poor justifications that not only limit your ability to achieve, they slowly crush your dreams & constrict ever tighter around your life affecting much more than just the physical side of your life.
I have overcome many of these reasons myself and I have trained many who have overcome these & many other self-limiting beliefs to surprise themselves & those around them.
Lets go through these reasons again:
I can’t run at all because my joints hurt when run - Do you spend a lot of time not moving much at all then try to reverse all that inactivity with one run? Have you started off with runs of just a few minutes, walk/jogs, different surfaces (grass, sand, elliptical trainers, water, hills), do you have properly fitting & the correct type of shoe for you?
Because I can’t run (get to the gym) I can’t get fit/lose weight - Movement of your body is what counts to improving your fitness not gym memberships or how many kays you can run there are multiple ways to move your body & multiple paths to improving your fitness.
I’m too old to improve my fitness - You are never too old to do something to improve your fitness, & if you are anything under 60 you are seriously fooling yourself. I hear people in their thirties & forties saying they are too old and I have seen countless cases of people these ages and older prove themselves wrong!
I can’t do a push up, so I won’t even try - Why not try? Because you’ll be embarrassed if you try & fail, if you try & can’t do one you haven’t failed you have taken one step closer to succeeding. If you don’t try at all thats failing!
There’s no way I could ever do a marathon, when I can’t run around the block - I was the slowest & chubbiest kid in school (my legs rubbed together when I ran), last year I ran a marathon after signing up only a day prior. Pete after not doing any exercise for 8 years in his adult life, has conquered multiple marathons and is now undertaking a project of 3 marathons in 3 months on 3 continents!
I had a back injury years ago if I do any exercise it’ll just hurt more - I suffered a major back injury when I was 20 that me knocked me flat for months with pain from my back all the way to my feet, I used exercise and a dogged tenacity of not letting myself being limited physically to get past it!

Still think it’s all too hard because it will take too much effort & time, in the last week, Chinese astronauts have gone for their first spacewalk decades after America, yet now they have announced their intentions to be walking on the moon and launching a space station within the next 15 years entering as a major player into the Space Race in a massive way.
Want something a bit closer to home, Mark at 47 years of age has now dropped 15 kilos from 108 down to 93, he will be taking on 22 kilometre distance in the Melbourne Half Marathon & is now ready & able to finish it convincingly! Mark has achieved much more than he previously dreamt possible and couldn’t be more pleased with himself & deservedly so.
Through his commitment to invest in his own health & fitness & the visible changes he has made he has directly inspired 3 other people by continually making unstoppable progress, 1 of the people he influenced has now inspired 3 others to improve their fitness & health and I’m positive that all involved will set new heights for themselves and in turn inspire others to do the same.
So shed those self limiting beliefs and dare to push yourself to new heights
